Aermacchi Metisse, 1967

The Rickman brothers were everywhere! With the bottom frame rails running above the engine, this is not the usual Rickman frame layout. Disc brakes on both wheels are unusual for the time, that's a Lyster on the rear.Compare to the Drixl Aermacchi here.

The Rickman brothers, in collaboration with AP-Lockheed, succeeded in developing the disc brake on motorcycles to series maturity and using it for the first time in series production. In the first series, the disc brakes still had the characteristic large hubs that covered the entire braking system.
The Drixton frame was identical, except for the swingarm.
I wonder which came first.
I posted a picture of the Drixl version a while ago, the link has been added to the post. It's described as "Metisse-type". It looks to me like the Drixl version uses larger diameter tubes.
Strange... Most of the bikes described as Drixton Aermacchis have the chain tensioner at the wheel, not the typical Metisse swingarm eccentric as on both your posts. I just don't know.
