W57 Whitworth wrench

I found this made in Canada Whitworth wrench and wondered what the W57 stands for. It's not the manufacturer's name, we gave a few similar wrenches a hard squint and we think it may be a Gray product. W57 may refer to a designated wrench size, 3/8 and 7/16 BSW, we also found a W59 1/2 and 9/16 BSW (British Standard Whitworth). Any guesses?

Update, another one! Drew sends in a picture of his W55  3/8 7/16 BS (no W). Things are not getting clearer.

Using my years of experience, great knowledge, and a little bit of night school, I dare say the W57 is the manufacturers part number. W undoubtedly is for Whitworth and 57 is probably some internal company numbering system. Anyway that’s my guess.

I suspect you are right, I can't think of why a manufacturer wouldn't his name on the tool though.
