Johnnie Walker bottles

How Heath Robinson imagined the square shape of whiskey bottles was accomplished. He did hundreds of drawings of this type. American Rube Goldberg, born a decade later, did his own versions of whimsical over-complicated machines to perform simple tasks and a hundred years later both artists names are part of the language.

Heath-Robinson was fabulous. I have a load of Guinness prints which, if not his, are definitely in that style (I'd need to find them to confirm). There's also a series of "The Man Who..." drawings that are rather nice. D.
