One of my vices is vises; Marples

Here's an old Marples branded vise. The company is more known for its chisels and we don't have an accurate way to determine the age of the vise, perhaps its a product of the 1962 acquisition of the company by the Record Tool Company and William Ridgway.

Yamaha XVZ1200 Venture

This was Yamaha's venture into full-on touring bikes. The engine was a good one, showing up later in the Vmax.

In the Toronto area the Venture seemed to be the preferred mount of the Christian Motorcycle Association, I have no idea why.

Guzzi inline four

This was a new design for Moto Guzzi, who, from 1952-54 tried this longitudinal shaft drive inline 4 racer with small diameter tube space frame. Apparently it was not well liked because of the top heavy feel. It was discontinued with the development of the V8.

Makeshift screwdriver

This old screwdriver was purportedly handmade from a file. Not worth the effort I'd say...

Motorcycle toys; Black Mac 700

Here's an ingenious and different windup motorcycle toy from the 1940s, the rider dismounts as it stops and then gets back on as it moves off. Hard to explain but fun to watch.

This video shows all: Youtube.

Patent here but in German.

Thanks Rolf!

Dramatic styling but under all that swoopy metal, not very exciting...
