1974 Mercury Capri

It was a nice little import, especially with the V6!

paint it golden brown metal flake. looks DARK brown in shade, golden honey in direct light twinkling in the movement.
chrome everything under the hood JCWhitney style. drive it to A&W for a chili dog and rootbeer float. open the moonroof so yer Marlboro Menthol smoke goes out. as you exit out squeal the tires real load, high pitch, but don't over do it, it's the grace and style not the brute rudeness of the peel-out that counts. we need Florida beach towels sew up as seat covers, get yer granny to do it.

I bet JC Whitney had fender flares for that Capri!

I had a friend back in the early 70's who had one. I think it was a six cylinder. Nice car. Hardly ever see them anymore but were popular at least around here at the time.

I always thought the Capri (and the later Fox body Mustangs) equipped with a V6 sounded like a great balance between muscle and handling.

Maybe I'll get a chance to find out, someday.

Our neighbor in the 70's had one, I remember her complaining, "I didn't pay $4000 for a backache!"
