Vanished Makers: Edward Owen & Co., Sheffield, England

Years ago, I found this lovely bone-handled British-made meat carving set, and installed it in a wooden box befitting its quality:

According to one person's research on the web, "Edward Owen & Co. of Headford Street, Sheffield, was a small, obscure, and short-lived firm. It is listed, along with its Grand Piano trademark, in the 1919 Trademarks Register of the Cutlers' Company of Sheffield (the Cutlers' Guild)."  That seems to sum up all of the info that's available about the company.  Cool trademark, although I don't understand what grand pianos have to do with carving knives.

I have an extravagant carving set in its original satin lined, fish skin covered box
