Gianni Marin, The Motor Car, London House and Maxwell 1963
This racing model Alfa with a 4.5 litre DOHC four was intended for the 1914 French Grand Prix but did not take part. It did compete in the Brescia Grand Prix in 1921 and covered the flying kilometer at an average speed of 91.7 mph. This appears to be only the second example of a double overhead cam configuration, the first being a 4 valve Peugeot in 1912.
