Beutepanzer A

We've covered the British Whippet in a previous post but this one in German colours was a surprise. Beute means "loot" and this one is likely one of several captured during WW1. They were used for training and testing but at least one was used during the German Revolution in 1918-19.

The German Army used more captured British MkIV tanks than their own A7V, of which only twenty were built. Approximately a dozen Whippets were captured, but only two were in running order.
