1910 White steam car engine

The White steam car was in production from 1901 till 1911. Quite advanced for its time, the steam engine was mounted up front, rather than using a boiler the car used a steam generator located under the car. The fuel was kerosene, cheaper and probably safer than gasoline. About 10,000 White steamers were built in all. President Taft had one as one of the first cars at the White House.

Note that the 20 hp car was listed at $2000, compared to the Ford Model T at $825.
