Externally, at least, the major components look just like my '54 CS. I'm sure you're right in thinking this bike is c. 10 years younger; but what is it exactly that suggests a more recent model? Can't quite put my oily finger on the differences.

Mr. G: I think the same model is shown in Roy Bacon's book, a G80 CS from 1966, with oil tank on the left, battery on the left and aluminum primary cover for the alternator.Full aluminum cylinder is short stroke

Is there an visible difference between long stroke and short?

Possibly of interest: improved replicas of these engines are manufactured in Holland
by ABSAF. Ditto for BSA B34 Gold Stars.
