Steam locomotives were still in service on the CPR in 1952, but the writing is on the wall. The brand new 4040 stars in this poster (Peter Ewart again) dating to 1952.
Chasing that 4040 number online finds a FP7 manufactured in 1951, photographed in Montreal, still in service in 1981.
