The last front engine Ferrari GP car featured independent rear suspension and that for weight centralization, required the transaxle to be turned around so that the prop shaft passed on the driver's right thus angling the engine in that direction. This put the shifter on the left and reversing the shift pattern, making the drivers job a lot harder. The car only won one race in 1960.
