Modified "Sixty" Canstaff Mercedes of 1903 in Newport. Mercedes made the first real automobile, i.e. a car that was not a buggy, in 1901. It was also a racer and the first popular sports car, although the expression "sports car" was unknown. It cost $12,000. (Original caption)
