Richard Bach Biplane. A Panther Book (Granada), 1966, 1981. Photographs by Paul E. Hansen & Richard Bach. |
Very evocative photo. In spite of Jonathan Livingston Seagull, Bach actually wrote some excellent books about the experience of flying. Biplane is about his Atlantic to Pacific trip in a 1929 Detroit-Ryan
Speedster, model Parks P-2A, for which he traded a 1946 Fairchild 24
that he had rebuilt himself from the ground up. This was his second book,
published in 1966 when he was only 30 years old.
