From The Star Weekly (Toronto) February 4, 1940.
Charles E. Turner (1893-1965), born in Lancaster but an adult Liverpudlian, was in active service in both world wars and is best known for his war paintings. Go to this BBC link to see a slideshow of many examples of his art. One piece in the National Archives is a terrific portrayal of a Mosquito on a precision bomb run onto a target in Nazi-occupied Europe.
