What you could do is to research the registration number. (see below) The Lockheed 12 Electra Junior N3486 was crashed in 1975 but the 4ft section above doesn't look like it came from that plane.

That wing section looks so short & out of proportion (an aileron works much better if it's long & thin, for instance)that I'd hazard a guess that it's from a Link trainer or some other ground-based instructional device. If that were the case then you could expect a random registration to be applied, just for appearance' sake.

Good explanation! It's fabric over frame construction like a real airplane. I'm not sure how the Link trainers are made. Thanks for the comment and the support!
