Streamline toy car

thanks, Rolf!
Maker unknown but it looks inspired by Buckminster Fuller's Dymaxion automobile.

Front half looks suspiciously like the new Volkswagon electric van:

That VW really needs a stabilizing fin at the back though!

No doubt - the day they no longer put fins on vehicles was truly a dark one. lol. I think back to the first car I ever saw that made a MASSIVE impression on me, one I can remember to this day - my earliest memory of a car. A physician/family doctor who lived down the street and his family were my dad and mom's best friends growing up and we used to do a lot together, like vacations. One year, I must have been four or five at the time, he purchased a black Cadillac convertible. Like this one - http://findclassicars.com/cadillac/56968-1961-cadillac-series-62-convertible.html - a 1961 coupe with red and white interior. The CHROME! The FINS! WOW.

I'm partial to the 1960 Buick Electra 2 door hardtop... Fins just a little refined and restrained compared to the king of fins '59 cadillac... but just a bit. But any of the big GMs of the time will do nicely.
