Tribute to the North American Harvard, Smiths Falls, Ontario

Photographed last week.  A lot of snow loading on the wings!

Considered one of the best advanced air training aircraft ever built, the Harvard "Yellow Peril" was the backbone of the British Commonwealth Air Training Program.  According to The Spitfire Emporium, Noordyn of Montréal, Québec began making the MkIIB Harvard in January 1940, supplying 2,557 of these aircraft to the allied air forces.  The Mk IV version continued in post-war production by Canadian Car and Foundry out of what is now Thunder Bay, Ontario.
