Unknown Tool Maker

Old hammers seldom seem to have been forged with any maker's mark.  The one above is a rare exception. The trademark includes crossed wheat sheaves and the words "Drop Forged" but otherwise has been obscured, apparently (and contrary to good and safe practice) by the use of the cheek for hammering.

I'd welcome any information on this tool's maker.
