100mph Norton 16H ?

How about that intake? Before WW2 a challenge was put out, can a sidevalve single run 100mph at Brooklands? Ivan Wicksteed and Marius Winslow started modifying a Norton 16 H with a one-off cylinder head with more finning, and modifications to the intake and cylinder for better airflow were made. The project was never finished in time but in the eighties, the parts were rediscovered and built into a racer by Titch Allen and Nigel Fox. Did it ever achieve 100mph?

Thank you very much for the info, I did not find that article when I looked. Sounds like a happy conclusion to an ambitious project!
