Guarantee Motor Co.
The company seems to have dealt in marine engines at the beginning of the last century. I suspect it was a short lived venture, no information comes up. That area of the city has been built over, anything industrial is long gone. I’d like to see the engine trouble book.

The book I would like to see is "Diseases of the Gasoline Automobile and How to Cure Them" (1903) by Andrew Lee Dyke and G. P. Dorris.

It took a lot of web surfing, but I found a free PDF copy of "Diseases of GasolEne Automobiles and How to Cure Them" at "The Crittenden Automotive Library" at www.carsand racingstuff.com .
The book is very good, lots of illustrations, but slightly dated. This book covers a lot that can go wrong with automobiles, but a common problem is due to weak or dead dry cell batteries. The author recommends having a spare set, replacing them every 2 or 3 months and carry a pocket ammeter in order to test them. Be sure to check out the ads at the end. This book would be especially useful if you are a horse doctor who is afraid his job is being threatened by modern technology.
