Why is the bear wounded ? My Dad was a boar hunter, he fantasized about taking a jet plane half-way round the world to go kill a Kodiak bear that never bothered him. He could be an idiot like that.
I'm with yer dad on this one. except that I hate bears and that's why, but yer dad probably didn't hate the bears, he just wanted to hunt them down for the sporting adventure. flying there in the jet plane I am imagining a fighter jet from the 1950's with rockets attached to shoot at bears if you're wanting to go to all that trouble and expense you might as well go all in.
AI OverviewWitch-hopples (most commonly spelled witch-hobble or witch hobble) is a regional common name for Viburnum lantanoides, a native deciduous understory shrub found in the moist, shaded forests of eastern North America. It is also widely known as hobblebush, tangle-legs, trip-toes, and moosewood. Oh—here he comes all right! He’s “wounded” and “raving” because an .87 grain .250-3000 round is a dangerously, laughably, unethically underpowered round to be firing at a 600 lb. grizzly bear. If there was truth-in-advertising, that last paragraph would read: “Six shots—in two seconds, yes, but if you don’t want to be mauled to death, use the last round on yourself and and pray that someone eventually locates your remains in all those witch-hopples!”

Ground attack jets softened him up first.
"Smash through the witch-hopples" is about the size of it.
