Another Metralla project

I picked this Bultaco Metralla mocked up racebike project up last week, not yet sure what I'm going to do with it...

Wrong fork and front wheel, engine is a rare model 106 Astro 350 (one of 627 made) and the Metralla frame is 23-02800- if you have the matching 23-02800 Metralla engine, do I have a deal for you!

Score! Gosh I bet that'll be big fun with the 360. Or are you thinking of returning the bike to original spec?

The forks look semi-immense. Off a Japanese 600?

Would the Metralla have had a Spanish-made Amal carb as stock, or was that Ossa or something that used them?

I am pig-eyed with envy and covetousness.

That model Astro would have come with an Amal. I don't know what I'm going to do yet. It would make a fun streetbike for sure. Forks are 35 mm Betors, but two inches too long. Maybe I could just put longer shocks to balance the bike?

Some guy with a nice lathe could turn those fork tubes down to the correct length if he was a mind....;)

But the Bultaco sliders are so nice-looking, with the offset axle and whatnot.*

I have no idea whether they work as well as Betors, but the possibility seems fair.

* Woops + dang: I guess the Metralla forks didn't have that offset.

Rats, The Metralla sliders do have the offsets and look similar to the SherpaT units. And! the SherpaT forks are 35mm compared to the Metralla 29.
