We used to make things in this country #363; Chemical Specialties Assoc.

Wonder what nasty solvent is in it? Not much info online about the company.

Another money-making gimmick. A few drops of gas oil work perfectly.

Pretty much any solvent . A splash of gasoline or even wd40!

Oftentimes they used turpentine, because it smells different and better (in my opinion). The modern versions have an additive that makes it white and creamy and helps it to stick. I agree though that pretty much any solvent will do.

I don't know if it's the clearcoat or what they're putting on new cars now but tar, grease, sap etc wash right off of my trucks with water and I never wax them; they only get the spray-on stuff at the car wash.
