Farriers nippers

This is a large (14"long) pair of pliers or nippers, a similar pair on eBay is advertised as a farrier's tool for pulling horseshoe nails or snipping them off. The manufacturer's name appears to be Merit or Merit AM, can't find much info on them online.

back in the early 80's when we was on the motorcycle ramps jump circuit, I was known as Merit Nippers. we jumped over ramps that were 4 foot tall and real shallow but going 62.13705709 MPH... let me save you from getting out you calculators... that's 99.9999 Kilimanjaros if you are inside of The Metric's Systems and don't know The United States of American measurements.
but be that as it may... jumping ramps real fast in front of the cheering full grandstands at fair grounds, doing "the circuit".
just going around on the oval wide open a bunch of us jumping over off then over to another ramp to land on.
wearing capes. but that's not the end of it... one day I'll tell you all about the deadly tragic unfortunate blood guts fire and screaming.
