Monday Mystery meter

The scale is in volts, there appears to be a resistance coil of sorts between what I assume to be the fixed probes so what is this meter for? I was pleased to find the company is still in business, making meters that don't look like this.

DC Induction meter. You put it up against an insulated cable to read DC voltage and direction. Used to identify DC Voltage and ground for an installed cable.

I, too, am pleased they no longer make instruments that look like this.

This is a battery tester for exposed battery terminals of the old type.

I'm going with an automotive battery cell tester...the 1-3 V scale makes sense for that. I'm not sure what the larger scale is used for...

Anyway I'm glad we don't need to use stuff like that anymore.

somebody could build a Fake Antique Electric mini car using that Gauge Handle that as the functional main fuse switch slash throttle control lever.
wear a large rubber glove in order to prevent severe electric shock.
it'll look like a 1910's car with large skinny diameter spoke wheels... we install air powered lifting shocks... its was the world's first Lowrider. UP one three wheels.
the great big GIANT 1910 looking car battery is the BOOM BASS speaker... and such and so forth.
