Hydrofoils in the fifties
The postwar boom in technology and materials as well as exploding pleasure boat sales in the fifties brought new versions of old ideas to the industry. Unfortunately, this hydrofoil concept still didn't catch on. I'm not sure whose design the above boat is, the "Wing" logo looks home-made, though Grumman did into introduce their version with folding foils (below) in 1958.
