Seattle ferry, Kalakala





One of the few streamline style boats constructed, the Kalakala was a Seattle institution from its beginning of service in 1935 till it was retired in 1967.

I had no idea that the streamlining vogue which was so prevalent in cars, trains and airplanes in the 1930's had also been used in water transport as well.
