Hildebrand & Wolfmüller

The world's first production motorcycle, apparently, available from 19894-1897. The gas engine was a primitive 1500cc twin with the conrods attached to the rear axle. This feature was carried over from the steam powered prototype. I wonder what rpm the engine turned.

Holy moley. Thanks, Mr G, that's a new (old) and wonderful one to me. And thank you for the link, Anon.

The Henry Ford museum has one apparently, I don't remember it. Time to revisit!
