This thing is real, a motorized perambulator introduced in 1923. I expect one of the ownership issues might have been finding a trustworthy and capable nanny capable of operating the primitive two stroke engine and steering around the promenade while tending to the beloved offspring. It appears they came in different versions.

This young nanny appears to have it well under control. Note the balloon tires and full rear fender...I wonder if there is a seat?

Thanks, Dave, I didn't find the 6 year old previous post when I googled it. I think I'll just add the image to this one.
The wheel track offset must be to make it easier to steer, since she had to turn the whole pram. Today that would be considered a pinchpoint and a safety hazard.
