Vintage wood plane, convex


  This unidentified, possibly homemade, wood plane has a profile I've not seen before, with multiple passes it would plane out a tapered concave slot such as might be found on an eavestrough.  Interesting piece for someone's collection.

They're often called "hollowing planes." That one looks a little narrow for gutters; maybe it was used for architectural or furniture millwork. You could look carefully on each end for a faded makers-mark but I agree it looks home-made (wood-body bench planes are common so why not?).
