A nicely shaped cast steel thing. If the round wheel thing rotated this might be some sort of specialized cutter, perhaps for tubing.  Guesses?

Despite the 1957 claim of world wide sales in the above ad,  a mere 27 units were built of this light utility STOL aircraft. It should have been more successful, it was made to be a versatile aircraft for agriculture, ambulance and cargo uses and apparently worked very well. More here.

Mt. Carmel clamp

 Mount Carmel in Connecticut (just outside of New Haven) seems to have been a manufacturing center, there was a Mount Carmel Bolt Co. mentioned in the Lamson & Sessions history and as well as a Mount Carmel Mfg. company that lasted at least into the late 20s- by a couple of ads found online. I would suspect the c clamp came from the manufacturing company rather than the bolt company.

45 years old and looking good

Not a pretty bike, even when new, but it's nice to see something like this in regular use all these years later. 

 

Pennsylvania S1 at the New York World's Fair, 1939

A staged tongue-in-cheek shot representing the progress made in the 20th century. The new 6-4-4-6 S1 was set up and run on rollers for the entire show season, racking up the equivalent of 50,000 miles. The drive wheels ran on steampower, the bogies and tender wheels were electrically driven.
 

Car sculpture

This was located outside the Tool Barn in Hull's Cove Maine. It looks like it was welded together to resemble a sports car from the thirties, if it ever actually ran, it was a long long time ago.

 

Best tool name ever

I've never found much use for this style of ... I hesitate to call it a wrench, maybe a novelty?. This one is made in Taiwan, I wonder who picked the name "Bandwagon"?
