Mr. G, I just gotta know... Just yesterday, "Atoms for Peace" was featured in a New York Times article: "How the United States Helped Create Iran’s Nuclear Program". (The lead pic to the article is cool and would also fit in here, it's an old COE Kenworth.)
So, is your post today just coincidence? Perhaps some cosmic alignment? Or did you post this in light of current world events?
Regardless, thanks for your website, it's always enjoyable.
Access the NYT article here, it should not be behind a paywall: https://www.nytimes.com/2025/06/24/us/politics/us-iran-nuclear-program.html?unlocked_article_code=1.Rk8.iSJ0.zIL77qgZkULx&smid=url-share
Thanks for noticing! I am of course aware of current events but had not read the NYT article. And of course always on the lookout for interesting and timely ads, stories and things. I love the optimism of the 1950s, " soon your vacuum cleaner will be nuclear powered!" and how that thinking relates to where we are today. I am also interested in the media coverage of the B2 logistics- described as a 37 hr, 7000 mile mission. My analysis shows 14,000 miles- (there and back) at subsonic airliner speeds which makes sense. Multiple refueling, a nuclear powered airplane wouldn't need that.... Did I answer the question? :-)
