GM sold EMD in 2005, it was bought in 2010 by Progress Rail, a division of Caterpillar. They have about 30% of the diesel locomotove business in North America.

When I worked for Detroit Diesel in the 90's there were still remnants of Electro-Motive lurking in the dark corners of the test labs. If I remember correctly, one of the old Electro-Motive test cells was used to develop engines for Roger Penske's yacht.
they say the toilets car was extra filthy because the air UP draft could cause reverse direction of diarrhea and/or urine. much like a bench with wooden toilet seats open down to the track centers. that's what the famous Elvis song was about-https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XA5HErVE9oI
