Blacksmith-forged C-clamp

I picked this up recently.  It reminds me that there was a time when even simple tools like clamps were not readily available, and so might be hand-made.



An impressive piece of blacksmithing.  The screw was likely made from a bolt, with the head flattened and pierced.  Note the dimple on the end of the clamp body, a nice detail to improve grip:
