Attempted reincarnation of Indian Motorcycles

Floyd Clymer owned the Indian name after the company went bankrupt in 1953 and he planned to reintroduce the brand during the sixties. Along with his attempts with Royal Enfield and Velocette engines was this unlikely combination, a side valve 1950 Indian Scout replica engine in running gear designed by Friedl Munch. Unfortunately he passed away before the project came to fruition.

My gollies, that old scam artist had some odd notions. A good thing, I guess.

Mr. G., I took the liberty of emailing you a pic of an early 1970s Scout build that is, for my $$, more practical and infinitely prettier than the Clymerian oddity you were generous enough to show us here. Also (vicarious bonus!) the bike in my email runs (and handles and stops well), unlike F.C.'s prototype which was made partly out of wood and other famously impermanent materials.

Thanks as always for showin' us nice pictures.
