I was watching an episode of "To Catch A Predator" the other night and the middle-aged predator guy drove 4 hours in one of those to show up for what he thought would be a rendezvous with a teen girl. I just remember thinking "how sad."
I bought a white metal non removable hardtop version and drove it 60,000 miles only replacing the battery and one set of tires. 50 mpg no matter what. the windshield got cracked and it was extra cheap being flat glass. mine had no air conditioner because it cost about 1/5 the total cost to include. I drove it once all the way to Florida in the heat humidity and thought about selling it just because of that. I took the front passenger seat out and got a 1974 Honda XL175 in it. wash the interior out with soap water hose. i think I paid around $5500 in 1989. stupid AC cost like $1300 sunofabitches.
We bought one with 100, 000 miles on it, no one had ever installed a radio, the interior noise at 60 mph would have drowned anything out. But ,a fun little vehicle.
Same as a Jimny, Maruti Gipsy, Cariban and probably others. I had an SJ100 in 1986. Fantastic gearchange, comfy seats. Completely unstable over 55 mph. No radio also. I called it the Suzuki Lethal.

There is something like that again; Suzuki brought out a more modern remake. Don't know the model name or number. D.
Probably a "Jimny"? They don't sell them here.

Aye, seems to be badged as a Jimny. It's available in LHD. D.
