Sidecar Sunday


No, that's not a Zeppelin.  When gasoline got scarce during both world wars, there was a lot of development on wood and coal gas as fuel. These vehicles required a large bag for the gas, previous post here.

he was wanting to be photographed with those Army goofs who do stunts wearing those Jodhpurs with the wraps that let your legs swing freely... forgot what those are called... anyways, he was very disappointed.

It's his own fault: He should have read the contrct more closely before he signed on with Doakes Film Rental and Production Services Limited (Purveyors of Automobiles and Motorcycles to the Film Industry Since 1919). Another lesson hard learned, along with "Never work with children or animals".

Here in America we have a large gasbag that’s now making gasoline scarce. Perhaps this alternative technology will be coming back into fashion (though perhaps not so much the snazzy riding attire).
