Armington & Sims steam engine

Cyclopedia of Modern Shop Practice.  Chicago:  American Technical Society, 1907.
Out of Providence, R.I., Armington & Sims lasted from 1881 to 1896.

In 1929, the Armington & Sims Machine Shop & Foundry was re-constructed at Greenfield Village, at The Henry Ford museum complex in Dearborn, Michigan, as a replica of a typical all-purpose job shop as it would have been around 1900.  Interesting that old Henry would have chosen this defunct firm to showcase American technological history.
