F/A-18 Hornet

Air International July 1984
Here we have an ad from 1984, about the time that the aircraft entered service with the US Navy and Marines. Maybe as a result of this ad, the Hornet was sold to seven countries, including Canada who bought 138 units which have formed the basis of Canada's air defence. Thirty two years later, the remaining 103 planes are due to be replaced by the F-35. McDonnell Douglas was merged with Boeing in 1997.
