Canadian Vickers built 40 of a total of 57 examples of the Supermarine Stranraer flying boat for the RCAF. They served on both coasts in coastal antisubmarine patrols and were retired in 1946. Several were sold to private operators and used in airline service into the sixties. Only one remains, in the RAF museum at Hendon.
