Associated Screen News Limited, Montreal, Québec

An old film reel I somehow acquired.  It looks like it's from 1947.  I don't know what's on it.

The Associated Screen News studio was initially an American venture until controlling interest was acquired by the Canadian Pacific Railway in 1921. During its existence, the studio produced the majority of newsreels, shorts and industrial films in Canada. In particular, it was responsible for two series, Kinogram Travelogues and Camera Rambles, which provided the few images that Canadians could see of themselves on the silver screen. The studio was acquired by Du-Art in 1958.

Hmmm, thanks for the comment! The post is 6 years old, I'll see if we can find it. If so, I'll send it to you.

The Associated Screen News Studios building (with an emblem mounted above the door) still stands at de Maisonneuve (formerly Western) and Decarie in Montreal. It is now condominiums.

In the 40s movie '49th Parallel' production is credited to Associated Sound News Studios, Montreal. Is this a different company or a mistake in the titling of the film?
