Rene Gillet started his motorcycle company in Paris in 1902, he soon became known for his reliable V twin powered motorcycles. During WW1 the army made substantial orders which led to further police and army orders in the 20s and 30s, contributing greatly to the machines reputation of dependability. Rene Gillet died in 1944, the company closed in 1957.
