Timing belt, HyVo chain and lots of gears... Was the Gold Wing the first motorcycle to use a timing belt?

Der berühmte ILO-Piano-Motor bis 1968 , der Piano (ital.=leise) hieß, weil Kurbelwelle und Kupplung nicht über eine laute Kette verbunden waren, sondern durch einen leisen Zahnriemen.
Thanks for the Ilo engine info. I remember the Rockwell snowmobile engines, but I recall them called Rockwell JLO. quite a roller coaster of a story. I believe the first CAR engine with rubber belt was the Goggomobil in 1962, so the idea was in its infancy.

I wonder which weighs more: that engine/trans, or a complete Triumph TR6 with half a tank of gasoline?
Depends has the triumphs oil been topped up?
Had a GL1100. Weighed about 700 lbs. Have an Indian Springfield, weighs about 900 lbs.
