Another unknown name. Chicago was the home of Adjustable Clamp Company so I wonder of there is connection with this Mark wingnut clamp, there is virtually no information online.
Apparently not. (Thanks, Dave).
Mark Manufacturing was founded in 1902 by Clayton Mark to make steel pipe and tubular products, head office was at 111 West Washington Street in Chicago with mills in Indiana Harbor, Ind., Zanesville, Ohio, and South Chicago and Evanston, Illinois. Tools (primarily pipe related tools) made up only a small part of the business. During WW1 the company made armour plate for the government. With large supplies and no demand for the product after the war, Mark Manufacturing went bankrupt. Clayton Mark bounced right back with a new company, Clayton Mark and Company which ran for decades.
Family history here.

Thank you Dave, I've updated the post. I find it interesting that someone has compiled a complete Mark family history.
BTW, McMaster-Carr still calls them 'carriage clamps"
At least they're not calling them "cramps."
