Monday Mystery; Nu'twist magazine wrench

Here's a tool I didn't understand, the box contained no instructions, the picture on the box isn't helpful, the socket part offers no clues.. Garage Journal mentions it was patent 2220354 issued to Robert LeRoy Sheetz on Nov 5 1940, but those do not check out. Anyone?

The picture on the box shows undercut bolts loaded into it. Perhaps its for wheel lug bolts? Also the fact that the handle has a flat on it suggests you could remove a hubcap with it. If so, it would prevent Ralphie from dumping all the lugs into the snow while helping Dad change a tire alal A Christmas Story, 1983.

Thankew, Beazld.

The apostrophe alone makes me hate this tool.

So, the lugnuts come off and automatically thread onto the threaded rod without cross threading? Then the process is reversed to install them. I must be overthinking this.
