Keeper of the air...


 Why would a tire valve company need or want to take a half page ad in a motorcycle magazine in the 1950s?

Possibly because Woods was the valve of choice up to that point? Certainly on bicycles; I've seen them on motorbikes. No idea about cars; my elderly footpump fits Schraeder. Note the absence of an umlaut - far too German for the times. D.

The rider is checking his tire pressure the same way I do: "Hm. Looks all right."

Woods is still the valve of choice on some Dutch and German bicycles. Outside diameter is the same as Schraeder but the inflator thread is the same as Presta. D.
