SS France enters New York harbour, 1962

Clifford Makins (Editor).  The Eleventh Eagle Annual.  London:  Longacre Press Ltd., 1962.
Launched in 1962, she held the record as the world's longest passenger ship until being surpassed by the RMS Queen Mary in 2004.  Famous passengers included Andy Warhol and Tennessee Williams. The SS France was refitted as the SS Norway, a cruise ship, in 1979, and following much furor was scrapped in 2008.
