I should have probably posted this under the "We used to make things in this country" category but I think the OMC saga deserves its own post.
From the Antique Boat museum in Clayton NY. This motor commemorated the 1 millionth outboard motor produced at the Peterborough Ontario factory. The two cylinder unit was gold plated (though it looks more like silver) and a clear plexiglass cover was made up to display the inside workings. An identical unit was made up with the Evinrude name on it.
