The Dingolfing, Bavaria company continued to grow and introduced the S1004 Coupe in 1962. Their engine designer designed an engine for this car that used the then-novel method of driving the overhead cam by means of a toothed rubber belt, shown here.
Glas built about 40,000 cars between 1960 and 1968. In 1966 the company was bought out by BMW who apparently were only interested in the patents for the belt driven cam.
